If the shutter and diaphragm settings still can not get the right exposure (usually in low light conditions) then it could try to raise the value iso.
In addition to shooting at low light, use a high iso is well suited to prevent hand-shake blur effect (if the camera does not feature stabilizer) or for high-speed photography, because it allows the use of high iso. Raise the value of iso will make a side effect of noise on the image.
